94, well (the ecu can cut fuel 4 ways) so....
first was,,, insert the diagnostic jumper, in the DLC, under hood.
see code 12s flash, keyon. good
now with dead engine, we crank for 5 full seconds, release the key, got 41 or 42 code or TPS errors of any kind?
and second is checking for spark,.
but if got code 41 ,42, its just a waste of time checking spark because its failing, for those 2 codes.
here is the jumper
http://www.fixkick.com/CEL/DLC/DiagJump.html
4 pin or 6 pins? next to battery with rubber cap? can be either type.
is engine 8valve or 16valve, the latter shouts that on top of valve cover.
fuel is cut for the following reasons.
1: code 41, or 42
2:CMP dead.
3: Tachometer line dead for ANY REASONS what so ever, it goes to more than one place and can short out.
4: TPS throttle angle pin stuck over 4v, or TPS ground broken, same deal
if all this checks out
may be the cam belt slipped
so i check spark timing, next if way off the cam slipped for sure.
if the cam slips enough spark dies, a rotor lands ,between cap tower terminals and fails HARD.
see sneak a peak, the belt is 60k mile service point.

the jumper test is easy
so is spark test
and spark timing if spark not dead on #1
