Chevy tracker with bad tranny

Can i swap out for a 97 or later Geo tranny? Will it fit the 2.0?

I wanted to put a locker in the reared, can't I do that instead of replacing the diffs internals?

Don't know the answers, just didn't want you to think no one read your post. My knowledge range is only circa 1992. I had to look up what a locker was, which I guess aids in 4 wheeling somewhere out in mud land.

Yours an automatic or manual? I see used automatics for $550, which given the fix these things yourself, I would recommend. I'd recommend it if it cost $1,000. Or $1500, installed. Smile Because I'm doing it right now, and it's not fun really. (5 speed manual).

Good luck.
