Parts needed to run ECU
#5
i revised my page, added Samurai mod.'s.

http://www.fixkick.com/EGR-H3LL.html

hit control +F5 to refresh your cache and get new page.
added links to PDF parts cat, and to the huge antedated 95 G16b ECU.schematic.

that is correct no sst tube
your EGR is dead, with no cat.
the modulator goes dead with no Cat. (if mod even works, now many dont this old)
seen here.
with the CAT missing the bark (putt) can not push at point B.

if that happens the vent , just leaks air here in the red path. killing EGR main dead.forever.

so having no cat, the best ECU to run is the EGRT , and ignore 51 codes. i hope it dont go to failsafe, mode with 51s.
i do not have the software rules on all ecu made, nobody does.
Some USA ECU do in fact go to punishment mode, in 51s.
Id avoid the CALIF, ECU , if possible , but seems you can;t do to lack of working FED ECU's.

The 1995 ECU are more easy to find, but im not sure on the punishment modes. (failsafe for 95)
some USA ECU, when EGR fails, will go to failsafe. Seen it.
this fact or secret is not documented any where. failsafe true facts. and as related to EGR.
non of this applies to Canada ECUs. or other countries.

If car goes to limhome 51s, then only CAT will fix that. (no correct ECU at hand)

really the better question is, "what eCU runs best , in a CAT free, G16b"
answers:
1992 ECU (the 58Bxx) is that.
any non USA ECU. for G16B
and
70xxx
59xxx
my not be the answer. (due to software (firmware in said ECU) and the horrors of failsafe..... id avoid failsafe like the plague.

if i had this engine, i'd own 2 ECUs, just to try this out. buy the cheap one, (with the (joking) Calif virus 1995) and see what it does.?
70EA0 (get them while you can still buy them is my motto)
If it don't hold closed loop running, its a NO GO. IMO

many posters tell me , my ECU don't do that, and i then say well where are you?, and they say, "im in canada."
and i then tell them they have 4 cars up there, in that year. (prior to 1998)
USA Fed.
USA Calif
Canada E28 spec cars.
and gray market, (from other countries, even JDM cars)

then they tell me the ECU p./n and post hood sticker and ahhhhh there you go,
and each have different software. all do.

i do not have the decodes on all numbers below, line 1. and the last line is obvious

http://www.fixkick.com/specs/Body-TAGS/h...ge_32.html

the ECU is tuned for smog. and car body weight and if 4wd or 2wd, and transmission.
the key issue , is EGR. here.

on some ECU, the EGR must work, or you get punished.
