header on g16b
#2
newer cars run most headers AOK, have no issues with EGR, due to no more vacuum EGR bs.
(the egr will work, ok, it's all 99% software now, ecu sees load, on engine and modulate EGR valve to correct rates) easy. (back before 1996 , Vacuum "Rube Goldberg" magic and modulator bull)

looking there.
the 02 is there, but is in wrong place , that is very bad, having that wrong.?
they do sell Esteem B16 headers, why not get one with working 02.

the egr not working (but will in your case) usually does not force limphome , if after 1998, .
in usa.
but other countries have their own ECU. so. is pure programming and laws for your country, the logic is simple; "better it be rich, than nasty toxic NOX. very simple. (rich kills NOX dead.)
Most just fail for P040x errors. and tries it's best to get Stoich, but some countries, forbid this. as NOX is very very bad stuff. and simply drops STOICH closed
loop mode, and runs a tad rich, and with full power, as tad rich rule is natural MAF based, about 12:1 AFR.
in fact can make more power, (and tad less mpg) but is moot point, as your EGR will work.

the 02 bung belongs at the header collector flange, so it measures all cylinders, 02 rates. not just 1.
