Fuel rail firewall side leaking gas?
#17
the unit in your hand is bad.
its called the fuel rail pulse dampener.
suzuki sells it, do you need a part number , have it.

that unit has a spring inside and a Diaphragm, that diaphragm is cracked inside, end of life. there is no missing screw, im sure that is a factory test port.

i do not know GM p/n nor if they stock it. (i looked and could not find it, call them?)

suz. 15750-82400

i had to use Double crossing parts to find the trail of truth. ( typical suzuki parts buying,)
ok i searched the www using google and the p/n
and wells makes it for less. as does SMP
http://www.mypartsgarage.com/wells-fuel-...fd400.html

FD400
then i searched for FD400s;
and found out that rockauto does sell it, and is clueless, (typical) that these Fit all J18 engines, not just Esteems.
the proof is here
AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 3G1043 {#1575082400, FD400}

here is rocks link ( but its missing in G16Bs) an ERROR on their part.(no pun)
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframec...ttype=6120

seems SMP makes it too for even less.
FPD66

btw 2, all these dampers fail just like that, they leak ,as do all Fuel pressure regs on the rail, all fail. about now.

i think rock has the best price. but do google it.

here is an odd fact
the part, is not used on the J18 suzuki sidekick sport, with same J18 engine.
but is uses in the same engine, in the Esteem. and same partnumber up to 2002
and is engine code 2 on the Esteem 1.8L

the odd thing is Rockauto, does not know it fits all trackers and Sidekicks with G16B engines.
amazing.

the engine that dont have it , the damper is in the fuel pump.

i upgraded my hard to buy parts page with this part.
it is.
