Fixkick,
When I took the old timing belt off, the marks were perfectly aligned. When I put the new timing belt on and spun it two turns clockwise, the marks are no longer perfect.
What's going on here? I can't believe anything moved between removing the old belt and putting on the new one. As you can see from the photo, it's a few degrees off now.

ps. Right side of the belt is tight.
