I have 95 sidekick with a 94 used 1.6 16 valve engine that is now junked. I just bought a 93 1.6L 16 valve engine and just installed it. It won't run, but about 100 rpm's at wot and dies at no throttle. I noticed that the rpm gauge is not working now and it used to. I just had to install the manifold, power steering, alt. etc. I was told that the engine ran great and he had just installed a diesel into his sidekick. I shot starter fluid into it with no better results. I also checked to spark at two plugs and it was strong. I am thinking more
on the lines of fuel shortage, because of a miss matched PCM . PCM in the car is a 94' maybe, or the original 95'. I screwed up and shorted a cross the starter by mistake, can that fry the PMC and cause the other problems? I have not had any time to check out some of these things, but would appreciate some input.
