front oil seal leaking {crank seal? cam seal}

the valve can clog easy on old cars, gunkup, and then pressure builds in the crankcase. (may)

the lower seal loves to get damaged in installation, the crank end ridges are razor sharp, so protection is important. as is not gouging up the oil pump seal pocket

here the guy has found the lands worn (groove) so bad it needs the overlay ring, seen here.
