Rebuilt 5-speed making noise

yours looks better than my mine (91) no overheating evidence
but any bearing can fail.
and that idler gear not set right, to mesh teeth at right angle and depth, both. no binding.
not fun having a noisy box and finding what part is bad, but bearing top list
see one with bad spline on above photo mine, bottom rear of cluster is 5h gear extension gear, spline is wreck from previous bearing from or rear or that huge gear failed.
all bearings must be checked and splines, for damage, sorry for captain obvious, my comments are to all readers, even to 15 year old, like I was then, mixing parts in 3 tranny to get 1.
the box only makes noise in reverse.

the only trick in this box is the locking balls on the shaft of the MAIN shaft, so that assem. and disassembly must be done i correct order or the ball is wrecked and worse as a result.
