Intake advice
#2
(11-21-2021, 09:02 AM)Beastcub Wrote: (1994 Suzuki Sidekick JLX 4 dr, 4wd, auto Federal) So having just cleaned out the EGR passages (PAIN) Im ready to reassemble. I noted that the upper intake plenum gasket was glued on (way to much) and gasket material was stuck to both the upper and lower intakes. I thought youre not supposed to rtv the intake manifold gaskets (upper to lower OR lower to block).  Or around the coolant passage on the lower intake to block.
Anyone have any experience or advice on this? Thanks
there is no way to know what gaskets aRE there,  from OEM, from china junk or from Felpro (great)
did you know honda gaskets have gasking sealant in the gasket new, inside and then oozes out hot.  niice of honda pro manuals to state that.
suzuki is mute there.
some think the manifold is warpped and RTV the bugger, some even forgo that gasket and go ALL RTV>  I will not tell you what I think, LOL

are all 4 egr injectors clean
and the rear port to tunnel.  has and S bend that clogs. in the intake at the egr  main rear end. end.

i do not think sealants are needed, but some use hightack (compound) to make them stick and not fall off installed. like say a water pump, or any vertical gasket.

make sure the egr rear head tunnel is clear,8mm? path.

the left here  is tricky S bend port that love to clog. and then the 4 nozzles right side and last the head #4 EGR tunnel port that fees the S bend below.
I call this the QUAD port, EGR2,    later came MONO port, 10x better.  with tube 50 only removed and cleaned.
