Improperly seated torque converter
#1
Finishing the conversion of my 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive project. It’s a 1996 4door with the 4 speed transmission and dummy transfer case. The front end was all bolt on. No welding required. And since it already has the dummy transfer case, the shafts are the same. I could have kept my transmission but it was on its way out so I’m swapping in the transmission from the donor car.

My mistake, upon installation of the transmission I did not seat the torque converter at the time and while tightening the engine and transmission together I heard a bang. I dropped the transmission. I was able to seat the torque converter all the way. The flywheel appears bent, hopefully that’s all that is damaged. Otherwise I need to purchase a transmission. It feels rough to be 90% done and then do something like this.
