you are always welcome to ask question, and expected.
old cars will have lots of problems.
yes tops can be different by year, but 89./90 are same I think , take to best-top maker.

step 1, (not to drive that is way more , for sure no brake fluid leaks or coolants)
step1, is the front crank pulley bolt, 17mm hex head deep wall socket fits, set the torque to (CW) to 94ft/lbs, locked up in 5 gear hand brake set hard, and chocked rear wheels. if will feel like spring winding up the drive line , normal, but not a loose bolt that is bad to bone (blows end of crank snout easy if not fully tight.) (TSB on this )
I call that the day1 check, you will not be sorry ever.

good luck in your build, sounds like fun bringing back.
this car if 4wd is blast to drive in deep snow.
