If i had more time I would find a donor 1.6 8v tracker/sidekick and swap the engine/harness...just need more days and time!
yes it is a real pain not having a spare ECU, Smmurai's are long in the tooth , some parts are near impossible to find now.
yes the better, G16 EFI TBI is far better choice, with lots of parts and even mighty CARDONE 1 sells rebuilt 56B30 (mt) ECU, lots were made, huge so rebuilts exist.
get 91 to 95 TB harness. and intake manifold (+TB) and ECU, )
how ever the sammi setup makes its own spark. (SANS ECU)
so one can go carb. vastly more easy than 91+ sidekicks that do not have self made spark (distrib)
The best carb is the CV type vastly more easy to tune. for sure. (ex carb guy here) Harley carb.
