Timing belt with new bottom cog and bolts (top and bottom) - done.
Water pump - done.
Valve lash - done.
Then a setback.
Installed new o-rings on distributor. Began to install distributor, rotor turned when engaging gears (as expected). Went smoothly until starting to engage o-ring (oil on new o-ring, no nicks or gouges on shaft or housing). Very difficult to seat dizzy the final half-inch or so (caught on o-ring). Applied more pressure, after making sure dizzy was going in straight, then “snap”! Broke the dizzy housing where the shaft meets the body, just above the o-ring.
So now I need a new housing (at least).
Is it best to try to find a new housing or just get a new distributor? If so, which brand to avoid?
Engine is VIN 6, 16 valve. 1995 Tracker. Dizzy is 3-prong electrical plug and .475” diameter rotor cam.
Thanks in advance.
yes 92 to 95 fits in USA. 16v all are same those year but not 8v.
