what i do on all cars like this, is use timing light (strobe) and see of timing is way off, spark timing, if way off, the cam belt slipped.
and compression can be like 80psi and not 150 psi like it must be.
did you crank it with wide open throttle, this magic trick cuts FUEL 100% cleaning any flood fast (assumes spark is right and cam and spark timing are still good)
keep in mind, this car this year, the DIzzy makes its own spark (not the ECU)

the CEL lamp can help you, insert the diagnostic jumper, crank for 5seconds, does the CEL flash codes other than code 12? yes, BINGO @!
No I haven't checked the timing. But I will. This is the first Tracker that I have owned. It has only 25,000 miles was towed behind a motor home most of its life. Also I pull the transfer case into either 4 hi or 4 lo and the 4wd light comes on but the front end does not seem to engage I crawled under the vehicle and grabbed the front drive shaft and the transfer case is engaged but the front differential does not engage it does not have manual locking hubs. Any help will be appreciated jim 701-678-4185
