your thermostat is not bad, I had 2 windows open at once and mixed up my posts sorry.

yes the CMP sensor may be bad, only.
this is the only cheap fix for code 0016 and 334. if lucky only that.
the cmp sensor is only $16 at rock

and even removing the old one, cleaning off the end (lots of gunk on end can cause it to read wrong, )
I'd not touch a quite chain , unless this was replace first, the cam sensor. it is.
"The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 3.7L 6-cylinder engine is bolted to the right-front side of the right cylinder
head." (seated drives perspective , or passenger side right head top front end.
