My frankensuk needs help.

I have a 1992 samurai with a 94 1.6 16v conversion. Until recently it's been fine. Ecu has upgraded nichicon capacitors, had 5v output working fine, cel comes on when key turned on, will not when diagnostic connector is jumped. I have a 94 sidekick identical to my donor that conversion engine came from, swapped computer to check if reason it was not functioning. Still no check engine light when jumped, and yes I checked it functioned before pulling out of my running sidekick. Help!

remove or turn off the nag switch, or the CEL will not work. right.
all usa federal cars have this switch, never,.calif, cars or outside usa.

on the back of the speedo cluster case is one 4pin cable, with 3 wires, just unplug this wire (it has slide switch on end and is only bad trouble.)

i guess the cluster is Sidekick and not sammuri, right?
if not it, will need very custom wiring to the cluster.

It's a samurai cluster, yes it's been completely rewired, trail tough did it, and I've dealt with major issues because them being a non California shop, back when they did this they tended to not care if everything functioned, for example vss for egr function, it was incorrectly wired, and had no egr function, it still has nag switch, I will see if it got switched, totally forgot about it, I've been going straight to checking whole harness for issues because of previous problems.

ahhh trail tuff,
i sniffed that out.. good.
the nag should be missing but if they used a Samurai with a nag, oops.
I guess you have all that and no official drawings of the Trail Tuff, wiring, ?????

get the CEL working, its just 2 wire, (lamp and 2 wire, one wire is cluster power, 2nd wire is CEL wire to ECU , CEL output pin.)
all G16a EFI must have a working CEL lamp. or its real hard work to fix them.
all the sensors are monitored, so , if a sensors dead, be nice to know that right?
or intermittent, x10 that ..

there vast folks that can fix a stock car (Suzuki)
and only a hand full that ever seen a trail tuff car... Ive never seen drawings, how can you work with no drawings, schematics.
any helper feels helpless and all service manuals drawings are now useless....

the sammi nag is wired totally different than any sidekick.
id just wire the ECU to the CEL pin, and rip the NAG out.
its nothing but trouble, that switch and its wires.
and its useless,

the ecu is 1994, G16b ecu
must be.
the 58B00 B30 or b90, 70bxx are 1995 year,
58B10 is first one , 16v 1992, for MT trans, my ECU page has the true less.

the CEL wires up super easy. one could use and LED. to its wire, and 12vdc and it will glow, just dont exceed 50mA.

ah found a sy413 jimny fsm BOOK.
fuse f23 runs power the sammi cluster.
color,. B/W is power feed wire, from fuse. to cluster.

so if cluster gauges, work so does this wire.
then CEL lamp goes to Violet pin marked V. on the old SAMMI cluster. if you ground that wire the CEL glows.

this wire needs to go to the ECU, 58Bxx. class ECU , MPI .
this wire above must connect to ECU pin A14. (ON THE DONOR CAR THAT WAS VIOLET WITH YELLOW STRIPE. on A14 before trail tuff , fiddled it.

that is it takes besides, the DIAG jumper pin of the DLC..

Ok, so update. I ruled out instrument cluster, I disconnected voilet wire with yellow tracer, so when blue wire with red tracer is grounded, the voilet wire should blink my test light correct? Not getting that at all. Not changing idle when tripped either.

blue-red is timing freeze jumper not diag.

the cluster wire, if grounded, will make the CEL glow, the other side of lamp is 12vdc key on.
so that tests the lamp.

then when that cluster violet wire is connected to the ECU pinA14 ,then the ECU can flash it. on demand
grounding ecu pin a17, diag pin, causes the ecu to go in to DTC flash the codes mode.

FOR you I made this drawing.

pin 2in the donor, car, 16v , is diag. pin, this blue yellow, (blue with yellow stripe)

key on , CEL glows. as does ,fuel gauge work, and other lamps. due to the wire on pin 7, in cluster, goes hot with 12vdc. battery voltage. power.
then jumper A17 to ground this puts the ECU in diagnosit mode, (not idle speeds) just diag mode.
then the ECU flashes out codes, 12 = happy
if the lamp does not flash, but glows key one, that means the NAG is active
remove the NAG switch 23, if found, or slide it one time, only. now the CEL flashes.
it only takes 2 wires and a ground to do this,
