8V valve cover gasket AGAIN YES AGAIN AGAIN

my 91 8V is leeking again. I used a CORK gasket.
OK there is negligible blowby if any at all.... not a problem..
is there better gasket? it is leeking at the front where it has a hump gawldarnit

this the real official Felpro cat.
the make gaskets the best, (there many be Neoprene racing gaskets made , used many but suzuki dont have much of that.....)


most are not that, but other things
the rear leaks are valve cover, or the to always fail distributor 0-rings, (see my buy parts page for sources)
then front leaks. in order of most likely
Valve cover wins again.
then cam/crank seals.
and last oil pump side seals, if never molested they near leak, they are steel seals , new.
and last the SUMP (oil pan gasket) if not molested they never leak, but some are, and do , if you see cork there, that is not what left the factory.

and last of all , rear main seal.. 99% of time, is not it. (see dizzy rings, first)
the M/T car has bell housing vent that loves to suck in that dizzy oil leak and fool everyone that the rear main leaks.
this is an easy engine to get leak free. way more easy that air cooled.

the VC gasket is best changed out at 60k during the timing belt and lash check.
but never is. or some china clone parts stuffed in.

they are not cork pure but Felpro is some kind of rubber (better) impregnated cork, 100x better. that most junk sold.

I cleaned off the motor..
now drive today a few miles then look and see where leak is.
it is at front , high up..(above head) so VC likely
I think that I already had felpro on it.. but will order another now to prepare hahah

the front leaks are hard to find.
they can leak from top front VC, down behind, cam cog, (makes it look like bad cam seal)
then down front of engine, past crank seal. then on to pan front.
and confounded by gravity and fan wind.

Thanks for all the help.. I had it cleaned off. now at work (9 miles) the top right by the top SC mount is wet.. I think the front HUMP is leaking.

will run valves too.. I think I have a loose one either that or manifold is cracked makes tapping air noise? then stops makin noise when hot!! I'm about to find out hehehe
also will install the PCV valve that I have had for 2 years but too lazy to put it in.. the dam hose is so hard I gotta replace it also!!!

most stores, i think all stores in town (auto) have or can get Felpro parts, and is shipping free. ask them. (even back in 60s they could , Felpro is king, IMO)
For air leaks (or vacuum) , put a rubber hose to your ear, and you can find them all.
those 8v love to run, the MAP sensor, never fails (cept getting crushed at engine pulls) and fuels the engine great. (and even does so with air leaks, perfectly !)
with 3 less injectors to clog or leak.
The TBI is very simple system. very robust.
the 8v exhaust manifold never cracks, (untouched) unline the 16v #4 exh tube loves to.
it has a flat exhaust header , gasket, that is very strong. (unlike the 16v cone gasket)
fact is , it the exhaust header, gasket don't leak air the oxygen sensor works, (replace it) and you will get 30 MPG. easy on this car.

HERE I AM AGAIN ....valve cover gasket has "pulled in" again.. the drivers side, front most portion has pulled in.slipped in??.
the last two times i used a fel-pro cork and wonder is there is better choice.????
I put in a NEW PCV valve last time in case that was contributing to something???????

I'm stumped?? maybe find a different valve cover?? it looked good when I had it off. flat, no problems.

is something pulling a hard vacuum on the crank case,
hoses routed wrong?

PVC has 2 sides
the suck side, to PCV valve and then Valve cover.
then the other hose on the valve cover is a fresh air side. this can clog.
its in side the , inside top of the valve cover. this venting magic, baffle?
seems clogged.
or time for RTV glue on new gasket, top side to gasket side only.

i forgot to say obvious.
the 8v has tin lid, steel valve cover.
and the torque settings are tiny'
if set by guess, the metal bends and it sucks in. but at least leak.
35-44 Inch/Lbs

Inch not foot.
foot is div by 12.
were talking 4 foot lbs. which is extremely tiny.. i have 1/4?drive setup that can do 35 inch. (used on motor cycles on other small engines)

ok here are pics. EXACTLY the same as last TWO TIMES.
all the hoses correct position, and not kinked. the valve cover itself, I can blow thru BOTH metal lines but it is soaking as I type.
THE PCV VALVE didn't shake, but was stuck 'in between' so to say..I coujld blow thru it (either direction)
I replaced it along with the gasket last time in NOVEMBER..why is it bad already? and could i just VENT the valve cover with an after market vent on a hose!!!?????!!!??????
it looks like there is a vacuum inside the valve cover@$@$^^^
no blowby either, if you pull the dipstick OR the oil filler cap.. NO BLOWBY.. car runs fantastic 31 mpg every day
