Timing light recommendations

Good day sir. I see under the tool sections that you link the timing light from Harbor Freight store. I was looking at it and found a video of some guy really destroying the performance of this gun in particular. Are they any good or you just linked and example or it does not matter cause basically it gets the job done.

you do not ever need a dial back gun, on the G16 (j18/20 you may)

the gun is a very simple device, a xenon strobe and a trigger, coil. (and amp)
back before this we used neon gun, no electronics at all and had to use a very dark garage.

I HAVE THE Service BOOK on my first light, and it's schematic, so is repairable for eternity.
is uses 1 transistor for the dc 300volt DC/DC inverter ..
and 1 SCR
it works just like your camera xenon works, but uses a mag pickup to fire the SCR and dump 300vdc to the Xenon.
ive repaired my strobes used in emergency veh. (high end devices)

if gun fails, check the big battery clips for good solder joints. too. China QA is dodgy.

if the gun dont fire, the spark is weak.
if it wont fire on all 4 spark wires, in the mid span. the gun is bad.

The strobe light gun I am using on the video is from Harbor Freight, just be careful with the dial on the back of the gun as it moves very easily and can throw you off.

but is best. wordless works in call countries.
the only unique thing on a Suzuki , is the freeze, but all digital EFI cars have that freeze. unless brand new with a hard fixed CMP/CKP as is the norm now.
they sell a program that will change the voice to sound like anyone, even clint eastwood.
that be fun to try, huh.

any strobe timing light works,. the only differences is new lights need better insulation ,so if the wire is bad (HV) it can live through a 100,000 volt direct hit.

lamps that fail to work are:
if it dont , its busted or the spark is weak (current pulse) in the ignition, and is a long list of things that, even having the dizzy parked. 45 degrees off (90 crank degrees)

if the HV leads is passing full spark current, the pickup will work, even down to 1960s cars.. even and old 64 GTO.
all that matters is that the spark is good.
the ebay tool is the same china import that HF uses. there are scads sellers and stored, buying this tool.
in fact HF fright sell it for 11 bucks on sale,
there is like 1 bucks of electronics there, the pickup and plastic are the 90% of cost. hell the box may be 10% of costs.

my lights all run off my lawn mower. 10,000 volt gutless system, try it>? (need batter pack 12v)


ive seen guys spin a dizzy willy nilly then wonder why the timing light is dead.
this happens because the spark at the rotor has no place to jump, timed way off.

Oh OK. The thing is I live in PR and I don't know if with S/H costs this would be better than buying the Fleabay version. It is a Tooluxe brand (China I guess) but they make make other better? timing lights.
That is actually my Achilles heel, electronics. I still have not done the wire testing from the combo switch smoke event. I took a look but it was late and it was dating. This weekend will try again.
