Repair Fan Clutch

Hi Again Friends!!

I was having temperature problems.
I change the radiator because it was bugged.
I put a temperature watch and sensor because the temperature sensor was broken and here in Argentina is difficult to achieve.

Now i have proeblems with the Fan Clutch. When the car is arround 195

what makes you sure it over heats
please list all evidence and SIGNS

and ill bet nobody can repair that. clutch.

its not a Land cruiser, not at all. so much for www rumors...
sure anything in the world can be fixed, but will be expensive.
why not remove the thing
and ask every machine shop in town this question,???

i do see one post that is 7 years old on one toyota forum with all links to the solution DEAD.
so what rumor.
and why do you think your clutch works like that toyota. IT DON'T.

Dear Friend!

In Argentina Due to new laws, imports are regulated to certain types of products. If you buy an item now and if you have luck, your product arrives in 2 month. I bought a fly wheel last year and takes about 5 month.
All our international orders have two aditional tax. One of 50% an other of 35% (item+shipping)
An example.
44 usd. product + 55 USD shipping
99 + 49,50 + 34.65 = 183.50 USD
It's imposible for our wallet! Smile

I change replace the rad for a new one because had been broken on the plastic top. and do the IR Pyro Gun tests. All ok
I change the thermostat because the previous owner take it off.
Actual operation temperature is 190

100% agree with what you said.

I have a geotracker (sidekick here) 1993 A/T 1.6 8v.
All test are ok! (remember? you help me with de ECU - Injector transistors blow and CEL lamp http://www.fixkick.com/bbs2/Suzuki-bbs/s...hp?tid=370 )

Forgive my boldness . But why you say that the fan clutch can not be fixed ?
I saw some videos and tutorial fixing toyotas clutchs like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ACx7GTCn7Y

You think its not a good idea?

Based on your experience, which would be the normal operating temperature ?

that video is not for our clutch
heck we don't even know your clutch is original, and stock.
if it spins at 1000 rpm at idle and it overheats, it's NOT THE Clutches fault. (800 engine rpm hot is 1000 at water pump pulley)

Calo I have an extra fan clutch for my 16 valve, not sure if it fits your 8 valve though. If it does I can send it to you. Me dices si te sirve o no.

Given the fact that, it over heats to 260 to 270F (above photos show no overheating)
so, if the fan runs on a hot engine, at 800 crankshaft rpm and 1000 fan rpm (i think the pulley is 1.2:1 ratio. 20 % faster.
if the fan is at 1000 rpm , it's not bad. (at idle)
one test. bam answered.

thanks but his import duties are extreme/
my son imports parts from all countries to Peru but if the parts are used, that is illegal.
so he must buy the parts used, off shore, then have others paint them to look new, then import them. (dont ask dont tell....)
all of that is a ROYAL PITA.

Dear friend . A few moments ago removed the clutch.
I have taken some pictures. Indeed is destroyed. Selenoid fly away!! And internal pieces are broken. No silicone oil

I am looking for a used one. I do not want to make the mistake of leaving fixed. It is a not recommended practice.
