RTV sealant in rear cam cap?

Hello,  I've read in the FixKick site that apart from the RTV sealant on the hole in distributor base,  the rear cam cap too (inside head) needs RTV sealant to avoid a bad oil leak and saw the related picture. If no RTV in rear cam cap would the oil leak at the back of the head? like it was leaking from distributor base?
Do all heads of G16B 16V have this rear cam cap or only certain versions?
I have a 1992 Sidekick 16Valves.

P.S.  In the 'Hard to find' section it is mentioned to use RTV sealant (16V only!) in the hole (cam lifter rail) at distributor base (pencil pointing to the hole in the picture) BUT in the 'How to time distributor G16B' section, ALL Steps, point 9, is stated  'Pour 1 teaspoon of oil down into the Distributor base (I assume it will be dry ) hole where the Distributor bottom end goes. (this is a real FSM step)'.

Is it oil or silicone sealant that goes in the hole at distributor base?

the 16valve engine is unique here, not like 8v, there are 2 points of RTV here and rings total 4 seal points(per 96 GM GEO FSM in the forum post #1 ) 
good questions I bet you have a leak, to find it  get it clean first, then run engine and find the leak now. may take 15 minutes to leak or oil warm.
way to is the UV light die kit leak finder.


yes the rear cap is only machined flat and is not oil tight from inside to out side
the distrib housing has 2leaks points. 2 x o-rings one on dizzy shaft and one here and the D pad.
and see this D ring shape here this is RTV sealed too.  the reason the cam rear bearing is sealed is because engine crankcase pressures can overload this area with too much oil



this is SUBS ring,

as you can see lots of ways to leak here easy. in the factor it is pressure tested and no leak downs allowed.
the PAN iS RTV glued on, too. day1 factory.

or rear valve cover leaks.
leak point 5.   see cap base note how it can leak to rear and the sides of cap too, and very sneaky there.



this step is in the FSM, factory service manual both GM geo and suzuki.
