no car stated, fully,  doors? 2door or 4, , 4wd or 2wd and what transmission, (this  I do not need but tells me also if it is really 8v)
8v and 16valve belts are not the same, at all.
your engine has black steel top is 8v
if your engine is silver looking aluminum top that screams 16 valves it is.
easy that. G16,
the vin code is code U for engine not code 6 for 16valves. (GEO GM codes that)

I like gates belts, same as fitted to new toyota cars.
8v is here.

solved the errors at rockauto and gates.

ok the navigates  page at GATES is now brain dead,  wow.  they lost the 8v belt listing there. wow.!!!!
t164  (is listed as 60A00 belt)
t212  71C00 ( this is what you bought)

ok what are the real Suzuki belt numbers (GM I can not do) but here they are SUZ.
12761-60a00 ( 8v)
12761-71C00 (16v) wrong for your  engine.

so when buying a belt make  sure your belt shows, compliant with 60A00 (00 can be higher for newer versions)

the gates ecat is no good now, only the legacy printed or PDF catalog page 1832 on there web site covers this old engine, (banned in 1996 it was USA) 8v was banned. EPA.

t212 = 16v
t164 = 8v

oddly many stores do  not sell both,  and up to 1995 , both engines were made , 8v is mostly 2door car , USA> 16v is 4doors.
some call the 16v the California engine, due to CALIF, C.A.R.B. banning the 8v first.

Hello sir, thanks for responding. it is 2 door manual 4x4. It is definitely 8V. The vin code does NOT match the engine. It was swapped at some point.

However! I have the Gates T164 from Rock Auto already waiting in my garage, the issue is with the belt pulley which I also ordered on Rock Auto, it is the only one available IF you search using "1994" TRACKER. This pulley appears to be WRONG. It is metal and smaller diameter than the original. But if you search using "1992" TRACKER, the only pulley which comes up matches the original I have (rubber around out side edge).

My question is, how do  I know this one is the right one! I distrust the engine work the previous owner did!

sorry was posted for kits, not just  sub parts, seem you kit has wrong parts in the box, HAPPENS (returns from others)
the engine vin never ever matches the body of the car, to engine. (infact the make more engines than cars)  the Letter code do match, vin car year letter and engine and 5sp tranny top codes all match that one letter,
the pulley must be for 8v, and 8v only.
most stores sell this,
there is only one pulley 8v , 1991 to 1995,  all are the same onlly 16v varies.
rock auto and others never get this fully right even years right,  the real sidekick uses engine VIN code 2 for both engines and the huge huge pain that is, buying parts
the GEO used VIN code , U and 6  (U = 8v) and sadly many store are clueless to the hard cold fact
the other codes seen are  KV and KC,  KV means van and 16v,  KC means canvas top or 2door, and 8v.
so lets do pulleys, using real Suz, P/n so you can see those pop up in for example,  clicking the pulley at ROCK auto.
try to know there are 3engines, G13, G16a and G16B parts,  none that cross match..
yours lets call it G16a.
89-95 8v pulley is 12810-82003
92-95, 16v pulley is 12810-71C02  (do not buy 71coded pulleys) nor the ones marked California (means 16v to them)

now rock.
buying parts is not easy give all the above, best is to look at the makers pulley page for suzuki correct p/n
wow rock even shows tensioner pulley diameter, clear as day 58mm not 55 for 16v.

see this?
GATES T41064 {Click Info Button for Alternate/OEM Part Numbers} Plastic Smooth/Backside (58mm x 8.2mm x 25mm) Info
w/ 8-valve engine
next I click that and see the oEM codes , the real ones. Geo and Suz.
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php...0&jsn=2185

see those see alternate OEM codes that is a bingo.
Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): 1281082001, 1281082002, 1281082003, 96065054 (last is GM code)

vin year code is.

R =
1994

vin code R , and engine and 5speed box top lip, bell.
i will now show the photo of the official parts page 94 on topic next and soon.  8v and 16parts on head or here can not BE mixed, part 6 sets tension.
