Where's My Fuel Pump Ground?
#1
I'm trying to confirm that my fuel pump is dead before I pull the tank.

No gas at all up front.
No buzz.
Relay is good.
12.3volts to pink wire in taillight harness for 3seconds confirmed with multimeter.

I just can't find the ground wire. Same problem as this guy:

Anyone know how I can confirm my ground is good to go?

ok, the pump has 2 wires
the big pink wire you found that, and runs from there ( left tail) down to the bumper rear and to tank and is 2 wires.
the ground on the 4 door is not body attached at the tail lamp
it goes here, off my pump page there both photos, 2door and 4door (my pumps bad now what?)

here is the 4 door.
ground (its also covered i the full FSM book) it is called G300 in the manual.
as you see it cant fail much here, but will from here to the pump, it or the pink wire sure can fail.

Thanks!!

Ya, it looks fine.

Thinking about if I want to take it to the shop or try to do a new pump myself in the driveway.

Hmmmm....

sure know the feeling well
the hard part is getting the tank drained, they made it as hard as possible.
there is check valve at the tank side filler into tank (roll over valve three, makes pumping tank harder)

I got her tilted down with all the tubing disconnected. One last electrical check at the pump for juice before I order a new pump. The disconnect is buried up inside the bumper. Grrr.

There's dried mud everywhere. Play you pay, I guess.

All turned out OK. It was the pump. Got a buddy to get everything re-installed. Not a fun job.

She runs!!

I do have a leak on the front of the fuel rail where I had done a troubleshooting check with the plug in the front. I went to the autoparts store and they didn't have a new copper crush washer for it.

Can't find it on rockauto either, at least not by browsing the fuel sections or searching for "crush washer".

Does anyone know the part number the crush washer in the front of the fuel rail?

none of those copper washers are NOT easy to find, x10 that in when you walk in to brick/mortar autostore (suzuki what?>)
for sure the rail parts but Suzuki still sells them , my guess some washers are used on lots of cars made by them still.

off my page called, hard to find parts see, "washers"

FUEL RAIL:
16v rail copper washer seals :
front rail plug, 09168-14012 , SUZ states, SUPERSEDED BY 09168-14015 (suzuki says it matches axle drain plug cooper washers)
Direct link.

front washer is here
https://www.suzukicarparts.com/parts/ind...eid=214820

rear rail small, 15762-61B00 (damper fitting) Try Dorman 65310 (front of damper)
https://www.dormanproducts.com/gsearch.a...rd&q=65310

rear rail large, 15763-61B00 (likes to leak of not a perfect fit as real Suz, part) Try Dorman 65273 ,some say.
https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-8059-65273.aspx

I had no luck with dorman parts, much. (for sure rear rail washers)

more rail parts...
Fuel rail dampener 15750-82400 fits rail on G16B 92-95.
After market AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 3G1043 {#1575082400, FD400}, and SMP sells it called the FPD66
Best price on this dampener. is Rockauto.

if you have a flat surface,
and a lay down to it , some 400 grit sand paper
you can hand lap,(mill) the waster flat and smooth again (emergency repairs) the finish up with 800 grit.
sure can, the key is keeping it flat.
i have the parts # list, here, all parts. just ask.

your lucky , the rear rail coppers washers one (17mm) is very hard to sub out, the thin one is horrible to find. (a suzuki only part)

filter banjos are, copper washers. x4
13925-85553
suz, has em.
just put this in the gallery now. so , there you go all orig. suzuki p/n for the rail.
