Front Hub Seal Orientation - Huppbrian - 09-30-2015 Okay. I'm officially an idiot. I wanted to replace the front hub seals and bearings on my 4WD 1996 Tracker. I ordered the parts, and while I was waiting I took everything apart but forgot to note the orientation of the seals. It's not obvious. Which way is in and which way is out? RE: Front Hub Seal Orientation - fixkick - 09-30-2015 no problem. there are the seals for the backing plate tub those are NOT obvious. I call the brake tub seal. and then the real main rear seal on axle stub.? spindle back. (main wheel hub rear center) that has a lip and the side with the spring goes inside. nice graphic here http://evolution.skf.com/wp-content/uploads/1995/05/Seal-analysis-pays01.png RE: Front Hub Seal Orientation - Huppbrian - 09-30-2015 (09-30-2015, 01:15 PM)fixkick Wrote: no problem.
