2.0 in sidekick sport. - blroevnet - 09-12-2015 Has anyone sided a 2.0 in a sidekick sport using all the sidekick engine controls? If so what year 2.0? Any help is greatly appreciated. RE: 2.0 in sidekick sport. - fixkick - 09-12-2015 not sure what you mean. sorry sided? yes, the 2.0 runs in a 1.8 sport body with all stock parts , ecu etc. long block. (for sure, no mans, no sensors from 2.0 ) OTOH, but we can review all sensors 1 by 1, sure... but why, run the long block as it sits. only ; the CKP sensor needs to be checked carefully! (tooth counts must be right) the esteem 1.8 has wrong tone wheel. (one example) and some CMP sensors on the head are different too, so keep your original there. best is to say what is donor car? and year? 2.0 liter its just a stroked 1.8) mostly (long block wise) and what is moving?, short block only, long block, or long block and all manifolds.????? see? And it seems to be easier to find a used 2.0 than used 1.8. Sry I meant stuffed a 2.0* not sided. RE: 2.0 in sidekick sport. - fixkick - 09-12-2015 sure sidelined a block.. got it. that is correct, 1.8L are hard to find unless Esteems found with 1.8L: suzuki sports are very low quantity ever made, most rare of all. so get any 2.0? J20 it's true name (suzuki name) then make sure count the teeth on the CKP tone wheel first. the crank tone well must be correct or the ECU will go very nuts. then use the old CMP and manifold. The cam sensor, make sure its the same if not use the old CAM sensor. this is what you dont want to happen http://www.fixkick.com/look/wrong-crank-cog97.jpg this will never fly.... the 2.0L the extra 200cc sucks more air but the MAF handles that as does the ECU tables for same, many have done it.. do you need a list of all cars using J20 have it. or google it. or wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Suzuki_engines#J_engine lots of Vitara's run J20s. |
