Protection bar replacement.... - cosmic_splatter - 08-13-2014

Fixkick,

Do you recognize this protection bar? I want to get a replacement and haven't been successful in finding the manufacturer.

ps. I'm out of space to post more photos on your site. I think the limit is 18Mb.

thanks,

Maybe try the guys at http://www.hwy83suzukisalvage.com/

Looking at it and thinking of how one would make that bar, I'd say the hardest part is to make the plates where it mounts onto the chassis. If that part is not damaged it would look like a simple fix to just cut off the cracked pipe section and weld a new piece on and spray paint it. Of course in case you don't find it new anymore.

i think its a tank protector and is replaced when you get a trailer hitch kit.

ill up that limit, it's default. and small.

any weld shop can fix that bar. easy.
remove it he would
straighten it.
the cut it off
out in new pipe
weld on old cap mount
then try fit, see if it fits, with 2nd pipe end held in place
yes, weld that back on
or just buy a new hitch kit.
might be cheaper. JC whitney?

IIRC, had to throw mine away, at doing this.

not only that , it is stronger and more tank protection ,.

I ordered a Curt hitch to replace the part...

Anyone using a carrier for a tracker hitch?

Not sure how stable it would be on a 1 1/4 hitch.
