EGR valve modulator ? - Lon - 06-12-2014 93 kick , 1.6 , 16v, 5speed Thorley header. Not knowing what the P.O. has done or not done , I put a wire into the "P" & "Q" vacuum line nipples of the EGR modulator looking for the " short" side (P). There is no restriction on the "p" side like the diagram in the service manual shows.(Diagram can also be seen on "FIXKICK EFI-sensor- theory under EGR.) The wire goes in one end and out the other. should there be a restriction at the "P" end ? Is my modulator ok or junk? The diagram is not real clear. Thanks again Lon RE: EGR valve modulator ? - Lon - 06-12-2014 helperbee I understand how the modulator works and that is why I asked the question..............If there is no restriction ( orifice) in "P" or "Q" , how can the valve be Directional? My valve has no orifice. Thank you for the reply Lon RE: EGR valve modulator ? - fixkick - 06-13-2014 this size engine , it has no orifice, ive checked like 20 of these and all are no orifice and are symmetrical. so p and q don.t really matter. that is my assumption, but would never tempt fate, and do it wrong. maybe one side is more sensitive ? naturally. the maker has no white papers on it, so can read them. if found would be in Japanese, so.. doomed. to start. |
