Help identifying - Vitalie - 04-28-2014 Hi again. I am very curious to find out what is that clear hose with spring I found behind the glove box. It looks it is supposed to connect somewhere and not hang like that. Is it related to the A/C? The reason I ask is that my A/C dose not hold more than couple of weeks after a charging. I believe there is a leak and I try to find it. Thanks RE: Help identifying - fixkick - 04-28-2014 that is the 4door, rear waster hose (for wiper rear). comes on 4door car, even though it is mISSING that option ,even day 1. the spring prevents collapse. there are 2 ways to find A/C Freon leaks. the dye test( sold with refill can kits.. and the sniffer. (lots more expensive) RE: Help identifying - Vitalie - 04-29-2014 Thanks resolving the mystery . As for the A/C I tried to use a spray bottle with a bit of dishwasher soap and water but I think I did not have enough pressure (10psi) as I did find anything yet. I was thinking to recharge and do the test again. I am considering to get the dye and the light if the previous method fails. Thank you once more. RE: Help identifying - fixkick - 04-29-2014 finding the leaks are not easy, takes lots of checking, even with soapy water. dont forget to spray front end of compressor, shaft. (seal there) and the core in the CAB (evaporator core) will not be easy to check. only after proving all other paths are leak free, do we condemn the cab core. RE: Help identifying - Vitalie - 05-11-2014 Ok got some dye in the system to find the leak. Checked everywhere in the engine compartment, compressor condenser, lines , fittings- NADA. din not find anything. Everything looks clean. Now I want to check the cabin evaporator core but I have no idea how to get access to it. How much gutting should be done? If the whole panel needs to be taken out that will suck. Thanks RE: Help identifying - fixkick - 05-11-2014 checking the whole loop every inch, even the 2 schrader valve cores for leaking? is first, then the cab evap last.. the front receiver/drier too, and its hi/lo switch for leaks? here it is,but how to split the case , not removed, might be possible http://www.fixkick.com/AirCond/96-97set/96-98Aircond-blowups.pdf page 13 , in fsm , see the words, most difficult in first line..... http://www.acksfaq.com/96-FSM-v1-1b-pdf.htm says, remove blower motor case http://www.acksfaq.com/96-FSM-v1-1a-pdf.htm again page 13. two number 13s in a row. luck is not our friend. i hope its not there but something dumb like the hi/lo switch cracked or schraders, leaking. |
