Suzuki OBD Question - happyAlpaca - 03-29-2024 Hi Everyone! I just bought myself a California 1989 2 door Tin-top Sidekick JLX which I love! I wanted to monitor the outputs of the car's sensors using an OBD1 cable. I noticed FixKick has a great page on this here https://fixkick.com/hacking/hacked/addressmap-hacked.html I had the following questions:
Thank you very much! Jose RE: Suzuki OBD Question - happyAlpaca - 04-09-2024 Please help! Jose RE: Suzuki OBD Question - fixkick - 04-09-2024 first off there are no OTC tools sold for any Suzuki OBD1 engine, period, (not even my big old, snap on red brick can ) it is OBD1 and is 100% unique to SUZUKI this protocol , as in not used any where else on earth. Just suzuki tools (TECH1) worked then and are now so old and rare they are dead or $3000 and up sold to collectors with deep pockets. Google buy Tech1, and the suzuki plug in and cry.$$$$$$ the Rhino tool works, I made my own and it works. (using text method RS232 modified connections) I did not use software at all but a dumb terminal via. PUTTY ,serial dumb terminal mode. the wiring is unique, 1 wire to transmit and receive serial data, like GM cars did in the 1980s/ the paper clip still works but sure I know you want PIDs like sensor data and fuel trim levels SURE. closed lop status and more, sure. there is no tool OTC, over the counter. sold for this car. pre 96 USA> or under 1998 canada. my 95 jeep for example I have 2 tools that work, from SNAP- on tools., maker. but it does not do suzuki even dealers used TECH 1, and ended productions like 20 + years ago. (that tool) now rare and crazy expensive, selling to Jay Leno (my lil joke) RE: Suzuki OBD Question - fixkick - 04-09-2024 here is the newer page https://www.rhinopower.org/ ask them. RE: Suzuki OBD Question - happyAlpaca - 04-09-2024 Thank you so much!!! Just reached out to Rhinopower Best, Jose RE: Suzuki OBD Question - fixkick - 04-10-2024 have fun ! for sure that is. |
