Wanted: 2 channel Automotive Ocilloscope - 10digit - 04-23-2020 Affectionados, Looking for a working 2 channel Automotive Ocilloscope. Anyone looking to sell (or even rent perhaps) something like a SnapOn Vantage Pro, or a PicoScope. Or what have you. Let me know. (use 10:1 probe for better scope protection from transients . when working on cars the car has huge noise spikes, on things like AC clutches and starter /solenoids. up to 200v inductive EMF kickbacks. any lab scope works even old. Tek is tops. learn by looking for a used scope on ebay, where ? else? new scopes from china , super cheap (<$100) are just that pure junk in most cases, but do read the spec or ask others to help. after telling real model numbers. an OWON DS7102v is good, new. have one I do, like it., 100mHZ and 400v inputs. safe for most things, good luck, any used good 100mHz scope is good 1975's years up. (no tubes) RE: Wanted: 2 channel Automotive Ocilloscope - 10digit - 07-21-2020 Well, I took your advice there FixKick and checked out the scopes in that spec range. I ended up buying that very OWAN 2 channel you recommended, with battery and carry bag from Lilliput here in California. Very nice scope. For $350 it's a real bargain. Nicely laid out controls and menus, nice storage scheme, easy to use, great ~6 hour battery. Display is decent size and the VGA output is handy for across-the-garage viewing. Here's a pic of two saved waveforms, the small one is the Crankshaft sensor output on my '97 Sport 2.3 at 800 RPM idle, and the taller one is at 2200 RPM.
