Assembly help - Soupir - 01-21-2018 95 geo tracker 1.6 litre 16 valve auto tranny. Rebuilding engine and believe this piece goes along with flywheel assembly. Where does this part go between flywheel and rear main or on outside of fly wheel and which direction. Should have taken my own picture. Any diagrams or advice appreciated. RE: Assembly help - fixkick - 01-22-2018 my wild guess, 1 photo and not 2, and that edge few its not then font damper pulley. automatic, 3 or 4 speed, both use different parts at front of trans to fly. flex coupling and mount. devices. I have no photos of them im 5speed buy 100% so.... but finding those parts or photos of them are rare, try google, image. do need rear of engine diagrams.? Im sailing the gulf of mexico now. more later if my battery holds out. cheers. RE: Assembly help - fixkick - 01-22-2018 click gallery above then clink transmission, #1 is 4speed. the 4sp shift by TCM by AISIN the 3 speed GM hydramatic. RE: Assembly help - Soupir - 01-22-2018 Here is the other side of it RE: Assembly help - Soupir - 01-22-2018 Also found this thinking it is item 3 or 5 more so item 3 just not sure what way the this would face RE: Assembly help - fixkick - 01-23-2018 nothing is harder in the world then putting something together others dismantled. the only real help buy a used FSM on the car ebay search 1995 Geo tracker factory service manual, and all that is there. are you saying its a 4speed and not the 3? click gallery above. then transmission click photo one, 2 different trans 2 different clutches TC and spacers RE: Assembly help - fixkick - 01-23-2018 i you look, that is artist drawing, drafted. (only purpose is to point and say, i want to buy part 3 or?) 4speed above, only. if I had took this off,it be marked FF (fwdfront) and FR, fwd rear) and not have to guess, later, (ever try to force a trans on an engine wrong? NEVER FUN. RE: Assembly help - Soupir - 02-26-2018 New question on the rebuild of this motor. Installing intake manifold gasket do you put a thin coat of RTV sealant to both sides of the gasket or not. I have the paper gasket ready to install. Thanks 95 geo tracker 1.6 litre 16 valave RE: Assembly help - fixkick - 02-26-2018 the rule is based on who made the gasket not car maker. some pro gaskets are already, coated, ready to use others are just plain paper. I use , Permatex very old school 2B, and , never RTV , in fa ct getting RTV inside any engine is a horror to the max. but on the intake side , not so much so after all it gets sucked on burned and blown out the exhaust where the CAT must deal with hit. on the wet side, oil side getting RTV inside any engine is super and will add up , and land 3 places where you never want it. (not withstanding the RTV glued on oil pan day one at suzuki, under tight QA controls) 1: the crank/rod bearing , oil slots, pack with RTV dust and the bearing seizes. (in that very tiny spot , ) 2: the oil pickup screen, may catch some but not the most dangerous kinds. (tiny) nor do you want it in the screen itself... (obvious) 3: the last place is even as bad as #1 the head orifice, .040" device, if it packs up boom kiss off head and cam bearings. but intakes, use any thing but RTV. I like these (they bought the org. maker, and is super good stuff) https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/gasket-sealants/permatex-high-tack-gasket-sealant/ rated for air cooled engines too, and is safe. https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/gasket-sealants/permatex-aviation-form-a-gasket-no-3-sealant-liquid/ but in your cases intake only , most sealants are ok and safe, Use RTV only when , nothing else can work (oil pan only) good luck !!! RE: Assembly help - Soupir - 03-07-2018 S95 geo tracker 1.6 litre 16 valve. During engine assembly noticed back side of ear valve was missing. So started looking and based on the part number and vacuumed tube bent shape it would be a California emissions car, checked the glove box tag and it shows the FE9 stamp which would indicate federal emissions. Which erg valve should I order the one for California emissions or federal emissions.? The old egr valve looks like someone chiseled the plug out from the one end. Thinking maybe they purchased he wrong one from the repair so they removed the plug in an attempt to delete it. Rock auto has both egr valves. Any help would be appreciated . Vehicle manufacturers date was 3/95 out of Canada. |
