Wires for transmission - Nesa74 - 06-25-2017 I can't find where they plug into it . Swapped out a motor and transmission from an original automatic put it in what was originally a 5-speed but cannot figure out where the wires plug in on the transmission I think it's a SLR plug tcc plug RE: Wires for transmission - fixkick - 06-25-2017 i cant understand what you had before and now. (seems A/t OVER m/t CAR) BUT WHAT A/T? THE gm 3L30 or the aisin box 4speed 03-72LE ? there are 3 transmissions used, the car has many harnesses, there are 3 in this case. 5speed stick 4speed AT 3speed AT all 3 are different and the front A/T cars have the TCC lockup solenoid. up never rigtht front finder only seen on 3speed AT the 4speed TCM brain under dash runs all solinoids even the TCC locker. 5speed has none of that nor the 5speed of the range selector switch is car 4wd? the 5speed has reverse switch only, all have a 4wd switch if it is 4wd. TCC, all ways there was for 10 years. http://www.fixkick.com/tranny/automatic-slush/TCC/TCC-failure.html#4speed the 4speed box looks like this , see the side plate, there are lots of 3speed photos too, and all TSB sheets. there. http://www.fixkick.com/slush-pump.html#4speed_fast RE: Wires for transmission - Nesa74 - 06-26-2017 Change my 94 over from a straight shift to an automatic finally got all the plugs plugged up found the missing one but now have no fire RE: Wires for transmission - fixkick - 06-26-2017 5sp to what,. 3sp , or 5speed. there 3 cars, there, and 4wd too. what do you have now./ what engine, 8v or 16v 8v is TBI 16v is MPI key cel lamp on , must be or fuses blown and ECU dead lack of power. CEL glows no fire, means to me i cranks ok so did you insert the diagnostic jumper sand see if you get DTC errors after cranking a dead engine , code 12 flash code means it things all is ok. got spec fuel pressure does it run on spray test fuel if not is there spark>? i sparks dead x4 then the Distributor connector side , fell off? or is time radically wrong? RE: Wires for transmission - fixkick - 06-26-2017 The transmission was 5speed manual stick shift as you said Straight shift, so if the old trans 5sp is gone then the clutch switch pedal is now gone, right????? the if the pedals is gone? then the clutch switch is now gone! and the starter is now dead, on all 5speeds stick shifts made. The 5sp uses a neutral switch on the clutch, (you must step on the clutch to crank any sidekick made, 5sp) when you put in an auto box, that PRNDL switch needs to be wired to the old clutch switch or the car will start in gear. bad idea that. (ok for me but not kids , not wife, kids means teen driver) Btw I owned many car in 1965 and all started in gear>...so its not an issue for me, personallY)( engine don't run, now. so why not work that first? step 1, cranks? yes/no step 2, no !, fix clutch switch PRNDL rewire fix. step 3, it cranks,ok good. step 4 for does test fuel work, (spraY)??? step 5, no, sparks bad. step 5a yes, fuel pressure is zero. (and more ask, 3 things cut fuel) RE: Wires for transmission - Daisy221 - 09-02-2017 Change my 90 over from a straight shift to an automatic finally got all the plugs plugged up found the missing one but now have no fire, please fix it . __________________________________ Online Dissertation Proposal RE: Wires for transmission - fixkick - 09-02-2017 no spark , on a 90 is easy , no ECU , in a 90 makes spark. no spark at the coil, check at the coil first, not spark plugs. if coil spark is ok, then the distrib is timed all wrong or rotor fell off. fuses first. "IG-COIL" fuse good. the distributor and coil do all the spark all by them selves. in side the distrib it a VR coil that must work then it drives inside same distributor an ignitor (transistor) that charges the coil. check the fuse. does the dash have a tachometer, this device sits in the coil if the brown white wire goes dead so does the tach, 300 rpm would be the rpm you get cranked. ( .3 on the dial 1 is the fist mark so it only move up a tiny bit)cranked wired loose to coil/distirbutor and suppressor? check coil primary ohms ? must read low. 1 to10 ohms. IIRC you said no fire, but it takes spark and fuel to make fire. fire is combustion of fuel. so do you mean there is no fuel......"? btw: the ECU does detect on spark and cuts fuel instantly, on all cars with EFI. or even 89/90. it also trips DTC 41 (code 41 means ignitor dead) or coil burned open primary or supressor fell off. http://www.fixkick.com/IGN_timing/89-timing.html http://www.fixkick.com/INJECTORS/89/89-90schem1.jpg set the VR gap?
