Hi I am trying to get my Sidekick to pass a smog check in California. There is a vacuum valve which is broken (with blue connector in picture below). Does anyone know which this valve is and where I could get a new one?
sure that is a vsv, vacuum solenoid valve. and is custom to this car and sold by suzuki.

i have no idea if any 3rd party maker , makes this part, that would take lots of research , but you do have p/n real. and is not cheap.

Okay thank you very much for the help! Do you have a picture of a good VSV? The top of mine is broken off so I’m not sure what is missing.
sure, its used on all sidekick in usa, 1989 to 1995 when the 8valve engine was banned in USA forever and in calif 1 year sooner.
sure. does this work?

http://www.fixkick.com/sensors/vsv.html
the vsv has 2 nipples, suck side plenum and output to EGR
it has on top a filter that when the valve is deEnerized it vent the EGR nipple to the filter size letting the egr not get vacuum locked.
and 1 connector with 2 pins.
that is all.
the filter keeps dirt for jamming the internal valve.

good luck to you !!!
im sorry
the 89 cam in 1.3 liter carb.
and in 1989 1.6 liter TBI
which is it. if carb real , then let me get those drawing Up I have them.
OR as any good store asks what is your vin number
leave out the last 3 digits for privacy only those are serial end.
the vin code for carb car shows 1.3L code. or 1.6L code.
Thanks for the help on this!
It’s the 1.3 liter carburetor model
the carb car is called JA car.
the photo in post 1 is TBI 1.6L with 2 vsv side by side
the carb car has a pile of solenoids in the carb
and carb car one 3 way valve EGR on the engine side, and not a pair nor same as TBI
if only the photo was back a foot , ends mystery car.
